Grade 3.4 Beaconsfield PS

What's going on in Grades 3 & 4?

Do you have ‘nude food’ today?

Our Grade 3/4 Sustainability Leaders need your help! Every Tuesday is ‘nude food’ a day where we try to have no wrappers filling up our bins. To support us you can do what some of environmental warriors are doing which is placing food in reusable zip lock bags, plastic containers or in lunch boxes with no wrappers on the food. You can even wrap things in foil which can be recycled.
How many wrappers did you have today? Please share your ideas with us.

We love working together in 3/4 to solve problems. Here we have two friends working on a reading comprehension activity. Why do you think it is fun to solve problems with the help of another?

Jumping with mental maths

Using the ‘jump strategy’ students worked out addition equations. We did a big jump when we counted by 10’s and a little jump when we counted the units. It was a lot of fun. A top tip was to put the big number in our head first before adding on…what other tips could you give to be successful with this strategy?

Cross Country

What a great day for a run! Congrats to all the students in grade 3/4 for completing the course – what a great achievement. Well done also to Amy, Ethan, Mitch and Grace for coming in first place in their age group.
Thanks to all the parents who came along to support our students and an extra thanks to those of you who walked with us to the course.
