Challenging Maths! *Guest bloggers TAYLAH and MILLA*

“Today we did an activity called ‘Equators’. We had six numbers and the equator number was the answer. We used the other  numbers to make that answer”. – Milla

“On the second round we got 74 points and won. It was hard and fun at the same time”. – Taylah

The first day we were nervous but in the end of the first week we all got better at it. When we all did swimming I think we all got better and better and had more confidence.

Student Blogging

Over the next few weeks, our blogging iPad will be passed around the 3/4 classes so that students can be guest bloggers. They are very excited about this prospect, and we feel this is a great way for them to take ownership of their learning while developing ICT skills.

We will start with 3/4 A & 3/4C. Stay tuned!

Groovy Grandparents’ Day

Thank you so much to the grandparents who came to visit us on Friday May 9th. The classrooms were a hive of activity, and Grades 3/ 4 A and C were no exception! The students were so excited to have you here and to show off their work.

Here are some pictures of our grandparents sharing their favourite childhood books, completing fun activities, and playing in our ‘silly moustache’ photo booth!

Melbourne Zoo

We had a wonderful day at the zoo today! The students saw a range of animals and had the opportunity to listen to scheduled ‘Meet the Keeper’ talks, and ask zoo staff questions about the animals. We did a lot of walking! Fortunately, it only rained lightly. But thank goodness we brought jackets – it was very chilly! The students should be proud of their behaviour and conduct, and we imagine they will have plenty of stories to share with their families.

Melbourne Zoo information

Children need to be in their classrooms no later than 8:50 tomorrow morning. The buses leave at 9:00 sharp.

Students need to bring their morning tea, lunch and water bottle in their bags. Please also ensure that they bring a raincoat as showers are forecast. Money is not permitted as we will be spending the day with the animals and at scheduled talks, not in the gift or snack shop.

We are all looking forward to a fun and educational excursion.
