For any parents of our Grade 3/4 SRC members, those 8 students will be presented with their badges at assembly today in the gym at 3pm.
Well done to everyone who completed their reading and homework last week, it was fantastic to see so many students enjoying their Friday Fun Time. For those who are unsure of the homework expectations and how it should be set out, here are some fantastic examples from Evie, Reina, Nate, Matilda and Max. They’ve all set their work out clearly, shown their working out and explained what strategy they used to solve the problem. Well done guys!
This week we held our applications for the Student Representative Council (SRC). We were blown away by the number of students who put themself up for the position and the quality of the speeches. Although only one student per class can be selected, we are extremely proud of all the students who applied and we encourage them to apply for further leadership positions in the future. Congratulations to Hunter (3S), Jack (4S), Ava (3G), Audrey (4J), Kaiyah (3B), Ruby (4B), Max (3L) and Izzy (4C) who will be the SRC for each class this year.
Homework is starting up for the year. It begins today and is due back at school by next Friday morning. As part of homework, students are required to complete reading on 5 different days (this can include the weekend), write it in their diary and get it signed by a parent/guardian. Students have also been given maths problem solving questions to complete at home. Each week they are required to complete at least one of the three questions and explain how they solved it in their homework book. If they would like to attempt more than 1, that would be fantastic. For those students who were absent or didn’t bring the sheets home today, you can access the questions by clicking on the following link: Homework Term 1 2020
Have a great weekend 🙂
Walk to School is officially beginning this Friday, the 7th of February. Come to school actively by meeting us at O’Neil road by 8:30. We hope you can join us!
Each week we will be posting our Students of the Week up on a Friday after they are announced at our 3/4 assembly. This way parents will have plenty of notice to attend Monday’s whole school assembly if they can make it.
Just wishing all of our students and their families a safe and happy holiday break. Thank you to all the students for an extremely enjoyable year and thanks to all the parents for your ongoing support. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
